The Blessing After the Fall

Updated: Apr 4, 2018

I recently came across the story of Annabel Beam. She was thrown into the spotlight unexpectedly. When just 9 years old, she fell into a massive, hollowed-out tree. Headfirst, she fell 30 feet! I think we can agree that it's nothing but the grace of God that she survived. Not only did she survive, but she suffered no serious injuries. Prior to the accident, she had a chronic intestinal illness. Yet after the fall, she was healed and cured! What grabbed the attention of most is when she proclaimed that while in the tree for 5 hours, she went to heaven. Her testimony became a movie titled Miracles from Heaven.

Reading this story sent chills through my body for various reasons. But what affected me the most is her being healed from the illness. The blessing after the fall. This reminds me of Joseph. Though he was thrown by others, he still found himself in a hollowed out place. His brothers threw him into the pit out of jealousy. But we know that Joseph went on to become the second most important man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. Ultimately, his brothers ended up coming to him to buy goods. And here we have the emphasis scripture,

"What the enemy meant for evil, God used for good" Genesis 50:20.

You might be in a pit right now. But let me tell you, you're going to come out of it. Whether you are there because you fell, got thrown in, tripped, etc, it matters not. There's a way out. Extend your hands and call on Abba Father, and He will mercifully lift you out from where you are. What's even more amazing is the healing and blessing that will come from this trying time in your life. Many are enduring trying times right now, but it's all apart of His plan. How? Because some prayers were prayed that require a pruning process. Dead things have to be cut in order for new life to come out. Some things have to be taken and removed in order for Him to bless you with things that will last.

God is a God of restoration. Joel 2:25 reminds us of this. The English Standard Version states, " I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you."

Yes, everything that has been taken, God will and can replace. You will not remain in this pit forever. As for now, pray for peace and call on His name. You will be sharing the good news soon. You will come out a different person, and others will be amazed. Others will come to Jesus and be blessed by your testimony. So don't be ashamed to share it. Someone else's healing is dependent upon it.

You will be blessed after this fall!
